decadent flourless chocolate truffle cake
DENSE -- RICH -- DEEPLY CHOCOLATE
serves 18 --
15 minutes prep time --
40 minutes oven time + 3 hours chilling time
ONLY THREE INGREDIENTS
1. Heat oven to 425 F, use 8x3" round cake pan, line bottom with waxpaper, coat lightly with veg oil, Have a larger roasting pan ready.
2. Melt 3 cups of chocolate chips along with,
2 sticks of sweet butter in a double boiler.
3. Beat 6 large eggs in large bowl till soft peaks form, (about 7 minutes on high). Fold in chocolate mixture till blended.
4. Place large roasting pan in preheated oven, place cake pan inside Pour boiling water in baking pan to come half way up the sides of the cake pan. Cover cake pan loosely with foil bake 40 minutes. Cake looks soft but will firm up when cold
5. Cool cake in pan on wire rack then refrigerate for 2 hours or until firm. Invert on to a serving platter, tap bottom of pan to release cake. Remove wax paper. then lay five 3/4" wide strips of paper 3/4" apart on cake.
Sift cocoa powder between the strips. Carefully lift paper repeat in opposite direction, this time sifting on confectioners sugar.
LOOKS FANTASTIC
6. Microwave each slice about 30 seconds, to warm before serving. To add calories, add whipped cream, ice cream or both.
