Private Hospitals & OB reccomendations

Help!! Will be visiting HK next week to see private hospitals and meet OB's. Can anyone give reccomendations?

I am 40 years old, 16 weeks pregnant with my first. Husband and I are deciding to either have the baby in HK or I would stay in the US (San Francisco) for the birth; due date is Feb 3.
Also, not sure where in HK we will be residing as of yet. We will be visiting neighborhoods also on our trip next week. Thanks!

Hi I used Dr Philip Ho-excellent.I chose him specifically as he came highly recommended for C-section.It was my third and least painful one.I was very happy with the job.
He delivers at both the Adventist and Matilda hospitals,both private and both very good.You will be in good hands here in Hong Kong and if you have full private coverage you will be very comfortable indeed!The Matilda has been nicknamed the Matilda Hotel!

I ALSO USED DR. PHILIP HO---VERY MILD MANNERED, LISTENS AND IS ATTENTIVE TO YOUR REQUESTS. HE IS IN CENTRAL WHICH IS CONVENIENT. I DELIVERED AT ADVENTIST WHICH WAS VERY COMFORTABLE INDEED.

I have used both Philip Ho and Robert Dawkins and would not hesitate to recommend either. They are both very attentive to detail and the prenatal care is excellent in both cases.

I also had P. HO and R.Dawkins. Ho seems to be fairly pro-C sections, and because he does so many of them, he's good. He took almost half an hour to stitch me up.
Dawkins was also great.
Both deliver at the Matilda and Ho also at Adventist and some others.

Many thanks to you all for your reccomendations. Very important info you all gave me in regards to the Dr. Phillip Ho and pro-C section. I have a medical history that my OB here in San Francisco, US has ok'ed for me. Again, thank everyone!

I am seeing Dr Robert Dawkins and also like his manner (he is Australian). He is conveniently located in Central too. I understand that he is more pro-natural birth but given he is in HK (where c-sections are preferred) I would expect that he does a number of them.

any recommendation on the Kowloon side?? My mom and dad will have a big problem to visit me if I choose to deliver in the Hong Kong side, although I live in the HK side... so i'm thinking of finding a reputable Dr on Kowloon. Please refer.

I would recommend Dr Joe Chan. he is very good and have a lot of good comments. His office is in Central. I know that he also deliver babies in hospitals in Kowloon as he told me when I was having my girl. His no. is 25233328. Cheers!
