Hello , Was wondering if anyone could help me , i wish to take my Vietnamese girlfriend back to the uk so we can get married. After trawling through various internet sites, threads and consulate pages have got a lot of different responses.
All i am trying to find out is what documentation will she need to bring her to the UK? and have been told that have to show and certify a certificate on no impendment CNI..before she can leave vietnam and can only get this form in the uk which is ludicrous.
I am in Perth at the moment working and my girlfirend is in vietnam. If anyone has done this before or knows the legal documents that are required for me and where i can get them ??? so we can go to the uk to be married it would be greatly appreciated

Hi Bond, I don't know if this will help but maybe it can get you started in the right direction...I am from the US and am currently living with my Fiance here in HCMC. We are in the middle of the Visa process to go back to the States and marry. We contacted our embassy to get info and followed up with the website to get specifics. Here is the website for the UK...... www.britishembassy.gov.uk/vietnam We needed certified birth certificates, criminal & medical record paperwork, and proof of relationship(letters, phone records, etc.) all from the Vietnamese government, along with applications for immigration and a physical interview by the US government. Oh, and don't forget the fees..... ;o) Hope this hepls....

I think the first step is for her to apply for u.k. fiancee visa, normally, the U.K. embassy has a standard form to apply for visa, and you must give a letter of support confirming you can afford to support her during her stay, provide the accomodation
ticket and travelling allowance. You will be responsible that before her visa expire, you will be responsible to bring her back to Vietnam. It will help also if you can show your bank statement to make sure that you have funds and your address in U.K. I think you can get the visa application also from the u.k. website.
And then ask your girlfriend to get information from Vietnamese U.k. consulate all the necessary documents to prepare for marriage before going to U.K. In Hong Kong, they will ask some Filipinos for certificate of being single, the Filipino can get it from the statistic government department from Phils.
If you can print out and filled up the Visa application forms from the Internet send to your girlfriend then it would be
easier for your girl friend to bring to Vietnam U.k. consulate, w/ your letter of support, plus your bank statement. Showing your bank statement will make a big help for her visa application.
In any country, the funds of sponsor is very big help to support their application.
