Planning a wedding in HK
Posted by Babeez (341 days ago)
Hi all,
My brother is trying to plan a western style wedding for November or December of next year and he is finding many places already fully-booked. He has around 100 guests but most places need a minimum amount of people which exceeds the number he has. Any ideas on where he could look? He is basically looking for a place that maybe has a buffet, can accomodate 100 or so people and have it look at least a little like a wedding reception. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

Try Gold Coast Hotel

The Viceroy in Wanchai is good for a small function - also has the outdoor space as well.

Thanks both, tried Gold Coast but my brother is waiting to see if it is fully-booked. They wanted to use the lawn but the hotel charges 30K for that, then extra for the marquee etc. Ended up a bit out of budget but will still see if they have space.
The Viceroy is where they hold the comedy clubs, right? I will get my brother to ask but ijust wonder about it holding 100 people...thanks for the suggestions though! :)

Viceroy is where I had my wedding reception ages ago...yeah, can totally hold 100 people, no problem...and the outdoor area is nice. Gold Coast hotel is a bit far for you to get a bunch of folks to trek out to, I mean, especially if the party is at night and then everyone has to make it back to town again.

Happy Valley Race Track is only available on non-race days. but the food is AMAZING!!!!!!!!!! and the service is on par with any 5* hotel. very reasonably priced as well!

Madison's in Central..they even have a deal with a celebrant so you can have the ceremony and reception in the same place if you want to ..and they decorate the place for you.

One year in advance is that all? If I want to book my wedding in England, I need to book 2 yrs in advance, and I don't even live in London!

another suggestion - hire out the Grand Hyatt boat, 'Grand Cru' for the evening. It's a beautiful boat - fits 80 people maybe more, staff are excellant and food is superb! I had my wedding reception on it and it really was an evening to remember!
