In order to go to hospital for abortion, do I have to take preference from doctors at poly clinic first?I took 2 test kits at home and the results are positive. But when I come to clinic , doctor showed a negative result. I really suspect this result so I want to come to hospital or other private clinics.So can I go straight to the hospital without the preference from poly clinics?

to all pple who is thinking of an abortion , it can have a serius effect on yr health, esp u may not know if u can get pregnant again . wat if u abort the baby... one day .. u find one u cant get pregnant anymore? when there abortion , there a risk of havin infertility.Secondly .. try to opt for adoption there are many couples out there wants a baby very much and they will pay for yr hospital bill .. once u give birth and in fact if you choose, u can choose the adoptive parents? isnt its a better chooice? the citeria for this adoptive parents are very very strict.. they go rigorous counselling , qtns .. psychological etc..
Beside paying yr medical bills .. you will also stay at a very private place for all these pregnant ladies ... they will give u support.A baby is a life , money isnt .. min abortion fees can more than 400 ... those underage pple. .if u go to the parental crisis centre ..they will advise u accordingly..you got no money to bringup a baby..i can understand that. .why not adoption? at least u are healthy and giving those childless couple a better life. who knows?
i myself had an abortion. i regret so much .. 50 percent of women suffers from post abortion syndrome.. do think abt yr actions .. nowi am getting married, and i hope i can get a baby..soon..

and Dr Chow Clinic for Women ...1 is at simei another 1 is at lucky plaze...go to google they have a list of clinic...try all..there are sure to be 1...

it is not for you to decide when you want a abortion as your baby is not 1-2 months and its 4-5mths.The longer you drag the more danger you are giving yourself.

If you want to abort, you can go to SGH's O and G center, if not you also try Mount Elizabeth or Gleanegles. But before you want to abort, think of the consequences of such actions, anyway you have to go for mandatory counselling and view a video first before the actually act of abortion. Good luck.

sorry, forgot to mention. Lien clinic does not allow usage of medisave unless the abortion is done in the hospital.
if it is done at the clinic, you cannot use medisave.
you can also try other clinics in mt. elizabeth hospital and compare the charges. they are just as good.
I think TB Lim clinic is good too and allows medisave usage.

I think u all forgot something.... I've been following this thread. Lyne's only 15 and it's not tat I wanna scare her or wat, I think police may be involved no matter wat her decision, coz she's underaged.
And Lyne, I think they require yr parents to be the one signing the TOP form, not juz anyone who's 21 and above (thou I dunno if u can get an aunt or relative tat u can trust to be the one to sign). Hope u wun get frightened by wat I mentioned above, juz wanna state the facts. Pls get help earlier, like wat everyone's telling u to, coz it's coming to 4/5 mths rite?? Dun wait till too late if u really want an abortion.

u noe,actually the best and cheap place to get an abortion is at kk hospital...i got mine there...at first,i went to a polyclinic for a chk up,then they refer me to NUH but i requested for KK..I have to [ay SGD200 upfront..but they refunded me back around 40+u can choose not to give your home address for the billing as it is optional..u would have to go for a scan to noe wats your foetus term,draw blood,take your blood pressure,take your height and weight,go for a pre counselling and watch the abortion video and lastly see the doctor for your TOP Surgery date...the day before the actual day,u are not allowed to eat or drink after 10pm..on the day itself,they will let you lie down on a bed and they will insert a pill in your virginal to loosen the musles there..after that,the doctor who will do the TOP for you will come over to your bed to put the drip for you...btw,the doctor and all the staff at KK are rly friendly and warm...then a counselor will counsel you again and will ask you about the methods of protection and give you some methods if you are unsure...let me suggest that the plaster type is the best...and the cost is very reasonable...after the procedure,you will have to rest for a few hours before you can go back home and someone must be there to accompany u back.tats compulsory...even if you feel alrite already...well,tats my experience...hope to those tat decided to go for an abortion might want to try out KK...btw,u must go thru polyclinic to get the subsidise price...

u search some abortificant herbs on the net. i found one website about herbal abortion and its process and i find it very informative. but sad to tell you that couldnt recall the URL. once you already know the herbs..you can get it in GNC(eg. dong quai). some are just can be found in the supermarkets(parsley etc.). ill post the website address if i can recall.

The Termination of Pregnancy Act does not require parental consent for a teenage abortion. However, teenagers requesting an abortion have to attend pre-abortion counseling at a designated Counseling Centre.

There is a clinic at Mount Elizabeth Hospital (Lien Clinic for Women, #05-03) that you may like to consider visiting. Bring your IC along and you can get some advice from the doctor before deciding.

I agree that maybe you should wait till your next period. Maybe your period's delayed due to anxiety. If it still doesn't come the next time, then get yourself a testing kit.

If it's positive and you're sure you don't want the baby, speak to a doctor (you can always visit a different doctor if you are not comfortable talking to your family GP). He or she will help answer your questions. Another idea is to gain support from your family and friends.

I am not a PR or citizen of Singapore. I am a student-pass holder. And I am single. Can I take abortion in Singapore? Will I be repatriated to my mother land?

I just took pregrancy test and the result is positive. My last period is on 31, Dec 2003.
So there are just 36 days from my last period.

I cannot keep the child because my BF isn't here and we need to finish our degree before we get married, although we both want to keep it, because we are not very young: we will be 30 after 3 years. So, it is painful for us to make this decision.

Some one told me that in Singapore's law, an unmarried female student pass holder is NOT allowed to be pregrant and take abortion. One who violates the law will be repatriated. This is because Singapore's government wants to prevent female student pass holders to do unlawful dealings in SG.

Can any one suggest a safe clinic, which will not report the abortion to the government and can also do a good job in abortion?

I have called Lien clinic several times, but they hung up quickly, maybe they cannot hear me.

Then I called the clinic in Lucky plaza. They told me to check first and then tell me what to do. I didn't ask them about the operation fee.

from what i heard, doctor lien is always away. i think he just got back not long ago from a trip last month.

charges for abortion are not cheap. well of course safety is the main concern.
for below 7 weeks, it is about 400. for 8 weeks to 10 weeks, about 800. for 11-13 weeks, about 1500.
all charges have not included the medisave deduction of 400 dollars.
if you have medisave, you can deduct 400 dollars out from the medical bill.

Thanks Smile. Anyway, I called up NUH, they said cost abt $450 (subsidised). I think tts the upfront. And for KKH, they said about $250-300, also the upfront price. I think KKH is rather reasonable. But NUH has more younger staffs that KKH. Jugding from a testimonial about someone who has done TOP at KKH, I think its better to be in KKH.

Care to tell us your experience in NUH Smile? Anyway, just asking... will you be awake throughout the procedure or anaesthetic will be given?

And tears... I am feeling haunted rite now, even before the TOP. Its just so emotionally distressing. I know that abortion is the same as killing the baby, but then, to think of the baby's future knowing that he/she is a bastard, I don't think tts really good. He/She might commit suicide after knowing tt. Every child wants to be legitimate. And these children will be socially outcast from their other friends, who will call them names. I had painful experiences seeing my friend being treated like that.

Furthermore, your family might not accept. You'll tarnish your family's reputation as well as yours, and your whole life changes. But what matters is the baby when he/she grows up. You want to see her happy don't you?? And you don't want to give up ur baby for an adoption.. so might as well not have it.

If you send it for adoption, and he/she knows that he/she's adopted, he/she will forever search for his/her birth parents. She will not be happy..... Think of the baby's future!

I suggest, get married in the future when you're ready, have a child, and shower all your love and care for that child. Compensate the love that you can't give before to this child, and lets hope that the guilt will not haunt you forever. And remember, practice safe sex from now on!

"Damm it" -> I now i am rude but if u wanna 'show your holy soul' then go else where. People now worried n regretting then u here said luckily i never this, never that. Its not consoling or providing an answer, its only making people felt more worst or should i said u gloat over others misfortune or unhappiness. We all human so got basic instint of what is right and what is wrong, but sometime our curiousity and foolishness got us into troublesome. So falling in for sexual activities is not a stupid or dirty things. Sex is something that is healthy and to bring one closer to other. (sorry for preaching so much tough, hee). Condom is a must things ... (try not to explore sex too young, as it higher your chance for cancer and ...)... Good luck to all... *To those who had aborted their babies => Dun felt too sad or guilty,wat done is done. Learnt to moved on with life (although its easier said then to be done), as your child is innocent so definitely they in the heaven. Treat your future baby better, maybe now you not prepare or external factors. No one is perfect... :))

i came across an article about how abortion increases the risk of breast cancer and infertility plus a sense of guilt that's quite terrible. just thought i share this so that all those considering abortion might look at things from other angles. i say give baby a chance. beethoven could have been aborted because all the siblings before him were disabled in one way or another but his parents didn't. look what god gifted him with even though he was deaf! your unborn child could be made for something great - given him or her a chance to live. god bless.

I've used a tester kit and the result is negative, but still my period hasn't come and it's late for six days alr... I usually have very regular periods so I'm not sure if the tester worked. I was panicking but after reading so many advices here I've calmed down... at least I know there is a solution. I'm baby-loving... but I can't afford to have a baby now I won't be able to give him/her anything at this stage...I'm really sorry but I don't have a choice. My family will probably disown me if they find out about it...
dunno if Mount Elizabeth will do for foreigners? I'm holding a student pass here. But I'm 20 yrs old.
PS: abortion pills are safe and is commonly practised in China... I don't know why Singapore does not recommend this. If you're interested you may look up Ru-486 and mistoprostor these pills....

If you're going for an abortion. Its better to go to a polyclinic first for a check up. Once you're confirm pregnancy, they will ask u whether u wanted to keep it or abort. If abort, they will refer u to a hospital, usually KK Hospital. To be referred is cheaper and of cos its confidential.

I have done 2 pregnancy test at home and its positive. I decided to go for abortion. Do i still need to go clinic for a check up or i can go straight away for abortion? Is there any list of clinics I can go to? How much will it cost and how long will the procedures take? i think i'm 7 weeks pregnant. I wish to get my abortion done by next week. Please help. if there is anyone that wish to abort please let me know. I am willing to adopt a baby. Race is not important but mother must not be a drinker and drug abuser. Need to be free of STD and I am willing to adopt the baby and give money for this transaction rather than u abort.
