Need advice re: schools and residential areas

We might be moving to Singapore from HK in a month or two. We r an Indian couple with a 5 yr old kid. Would like to know about the schooling system in Singapore and are there any good Indian schools and what is the response of parents to those schools. My child is 5, so she'll be going to kindergarten at present. What are the kindergarten choices that I have and are they as expensive as they are here in HK.

Also, hubby will be working somewhere near Arumugam road. So, what are the residential options for us around that area??? Preferably MRT should be closer.
