Teaching and playing chess in a school setting requires to keep a healthy balance between "leisure" and "formal". In our definition, quality leisure cannot be achieved if classes are too big and we will not have more than 8-10 students per coach, maximum 20 in a class with two coaches. We use the world renowned Step Method, all students get their own workbook matching their level. A lesson consists tactics, strategy, and playing.

We are a non-profit making organisation that focuses on the healthy development of chess as extracurricular activities among young children. We believe that a healthy mind inside a healthy body, will bring out the best in a child. We continuously encourage junior chess players to have a competitive spirit that is balanced with a strong sense of true sportsmanship.

The purpose of Scholastic Chess is to promote international chess in Hong Kong, and to bring the benefits of chess to students in Hong Kong. We have intensive Summer Chess Camps for players of various strengths. Registration is now open. Mission Help students to acquire the full spectrum of personal, academic, and societal benefits from playing chess.

The Chess Academy was founded with the goals of teaching international chess to children and most importantly building children’s character through chess. Chess requires a good understanding of the game, competing, learning from mistakes and challenging oneself. Through this process, children will undoubtedly acquire invaluable skills sets such as developing stronger spatial reasoning, attention span, sportsmanship and confidence.
