Mount Elizabeth Medical Centre is the first Medical Centre build in Singapore dedicated to Specialist Care in Medicine and Surgery. The Centre is located next to Mt Elizabeth Hospital . Together with the hospital, it was opened on the 8th December 1979 by the then Speaker of Parliament, Dr Yeoh Gim Seng, a renowned general surgeon. Originally, 150 clinics were built. In 1990, another 64 clinics were added. Today, a total of 288 specialists covering the full spectrum of all medical specialities is represented in the Medical Centre. |
